Roosevelt Island

NYで唯一のロープウェイ！この行き先はルーズベルト島です。
(It is an only ropeway in NY! Its destination is Roosevelt island.)
Roosevelt Island Aerial Tramway と呼ばれ、マンハッタンとクイーンズを結ぶクイーンズボロブリッジと平行に走っています。
(Its name is "Roosevelt Island Aerial Tramway", runs in parallel "Queensboro bridge" connecting Manhattan and Queens.)
片道は$1.5、メトロカードが使えました。
(One way is $1.5, I was able to use Metro Card. )

(This is 1st Ave from Tramway!)
ルーズベルト島には数分でついてしまいます。
(I arrived at Roosevelt Island in several minutes. )
ルーズベルト島は、その昔、囚人たちの牢獄と病院があったそうです。
(In Roosevelt Island, there had been a prisonand a hospital, the old days.)
今は住宅街となっています。
(Now, there a residential area. )
島の南側に病院があります。
(and There is a hospital in the south side of the island.)

さらにここからマンハッタンの高層ビル群を眺めることができます。
(I can look at high-rise buildings of Manhattan from here.)
イースト川沿いには桜の木があり、春にはお花見で盛り上がるそうです。
(There are cherry trees in East River side and Everyone view flower in spring. )
あと、ここから見る夜景も絶景なんだそうです。
(More, a night view to look at from here seems to be a superb view)
島の北側は住宅街になってます。
(There is a residential area in the north side of an island)
マンハッタンと比べると最近作られているので、建物はなかなか綺麗でした。
(the building was very clean, because it was made recently to be compared Manhattan, )

クイーンズにあるクイーンズブリッジパークも見えました。
(I can see Queens Bridge Rark in Queens. )
北のほうに歩いたのですが、中々先端にたどり着きませんでした。
(I walked towards the north, but did not arrive at the tip of the island.)
この島は南北に3kmほどあるそうです。
(This island seems to be length of approximately 3km in the north and south )

帰り道に不思議な彫刻？を見つけました。
(I found mysterious sculpture?? in a way back.)
不動産くんとお金くんです。
(They are Mr.Real Estate and Mr.Money.)
